IAS officer transferred day after demolition of 2 sheds outside former CM Jagan Reddy’s home | Hyderabad News

The Telangana government Sunday transferred IAS officer Bhorkode Hemant Sahadeorao, who was Zonal Commissioner (Khairatabad Zone) of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. The action came a day after he authorised the demolition of two temporary sheds built on the pavement outside the Jubilee Hills residence of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy holds the municipal administration portfolio, and the Chief Minister’s Office was irked that it was kept in the dark about the demolition of the structures outside a former CM’s house, it is learnt.

The two sheds outside the Lotus Pond residence were being used by Jagan’s security teams, but had become an obstruction on the narrow road, leading to complaints from commuters. Sources said that a minister in the Telangana government had also complained and Bhorkode, a 2018 batch IAS officer, asked teams under his jurisdiction to pull them down. Further, as Jagan is no longer the CM, it was reasoned that there is no longer a presence of a large number of security personnel outside his residence.

Officials said that had higher authorities been kept in the loop, they would have informed the CMO and sought permission before going ahead with the demolition outside a former CM’s house.

GHMC in-charge commissioner Amrapali Kata issued the orders transferring Sahadeorao on administrative grounds and asked him to report to the general administration department.
