What happens if a sex toy gets lodged inside your body? | Life-style News

Sex toys can be a fun and safe way to enhance sexual pleasure. However, accidents can happen, and sometimes a sex toy might get lodged inside the vagina or rectum.

The most important thing is to avoid creating further discomfort or injury. Trying to force the toy out can cause tearing or irritation.

Dr Chetna Jain, Director, Dept of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Cloudnine Group of hospitals, Sector 14, Gurgaon, noted it is important to handle the situation carefully and seek medical attention, if necessary. Here are the steps you should take:

1. Stay Calm: Panic can make the situation worse. Try to stay calm and assess the situation.

2. Do Not Force It: Avoid trying to force the object out, as this can cause injury or push it further inside.

3. Change Positions: Sometimes changing positions can help dislodge the object. For example, squatting or using gravity to your advantage might help.

4. Lubrication: If the object is not too far inside and it’s accessible, using lubrication might help ease it out.

5. Seek Medical Help: If you are unable to remove the object or if it’s causing pain, bleeding, or discomfort, seek medical help immediately. Go to the emergency room or contact a gynaecologist. Medical professionals have the tools and expertise to remove foreign objects safely.

6. Monitor for Symptoms: Pay attention to any symptoms such as severe pain, bleeding, fever, or signs of infection, and seek medical attention if any of these occur.

Never use harsh chemicals or sharp objects to try and remove the toy. Don’t insert your entire hand into your vagina or rectum in an attempt to remove the object. (Source: Pexels)

There is no shame in seeking medical help. Doctors are trained professionals who deal with these situations regularly.

Prevention is key

Here’s how you can prevent situations like these:

Choose the right size: Select a sex toy that’s comfortable and appropriate for your anatomy.

Use a flared base: Look for toys with a wider base that prevents them from slipping inside.

Communicate and explore positions: Discuss toy use with your partner and find positions that allow for easy removal.

Maintain a clean environment: Wash your hands and the toy thoroughly before and after use.

By following these tips, you can minimise the risk of a lodged sex toy and ensure a safe and pleasurable sexual experience. Remember, your health and safety are always the top priority.
